Newest Compadre's packing 'em in

I haven't dined there yet, but I have driven past the newest Compadre's Mexican Grill, and the parking lot has been full during lunch and dinner hours.

The new restaurant is located on a corner spot in a new strip center at New Orleans Street (101st Street) and Aspen Avenue (145th East Avenue) in Broken Arrow.

It sits only a few yards from the original Compadre's, which opened in 2005 in an old convenience store that had been empty for about seven years.

Brothers Jeremiah and Joe Lindsey have three other restaurants -- one between Broken Arrow and Coweta, one in south Tulsa and one in Owasso, although the original site always has appeared to be the most active to me.

The Coweta location is disappointing. Same good food, but the staff leaves MUCH to be desired. Too much emphasis on 'turn & burn'. Guys, the Coweta store isn't going to produce the same numbers as the other locations. Don't try to make it 71st & Sheridan; let people enjoy their meal!

Had lunch at the new location today. The service was underwhelming.

They have the perfect oklahoma formula. Volume.

Well, sorry you all didn't care for it. It has been packed at the south Tulsa location almost every time I've been there. Food has been good, service has been good and better than most other Mexican restaurants I've been to in Tulsa for the last 40 years. . .
