Tulsa will rock the art world with “The First Annual Tulsa Rock Show,” an ambitious display of rare original art, lithographs, photographs, handwritten song lyrics, concert posters, gold records, album art, animation drawings and more from the greatest rock artists of all time.

And it’s for a great cause. Art will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to Tulsa Community Food Bank. The event is presented by 94.1 The Sound and Z-104.5 The Edge.

Next Friday through Sunday (June 26-29) at Tulsa Promenade Mall, upper level, 4107 S. Yale Ave. It is free and open to the public.

Ron Campbell, director of the legendary Saturday morning Beatles cartoon series that aired on ABC from 1965-1969 and animator on the Beatles film “Yellow Submarine,” will make a rare personal appearance each day of this event. Campbell will have many of his original Beatles paintings on sale created specially for this show as well as give attendees a live demonstration of his painting.

In addition to his Beatles past, Ron has been involved with some of the most beloved cartoons including, Scooby Doo, George of the Jungle, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, the Smurfs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Goof Troop, Krazy Kat, Rugrats, Winnie the Pooh, Ed, Edd & Eddy and dozens more.
