Due to a stubborn throat ailment, popular blues hip-hop act
G. Love and Special Sauce was forced to cancel its upcoming Wednesday night show at Cain's Ballroom, said a statement released Monday morning.
The show will be rescheduled for a later date, it said.
"I have been benched by my voice doctor so that I do not do any long-term damage to my vocal chords," said Garrett Dutton, aka G. Love, in a Monday morning email.
"In all the 15 years I've been touring I've only missed a handful of shows so you know it is killing me to do this."
A scheduled performance in Flagstaff, Ariz., was also canceled.
"I'm sorry to put you through the hassle of getting your refunds and the whole nine. ... When I'm better I will be back to play for you all," he promised.
Chad Rodgers, Cain's Ballroom general manager, said, "We will try our best to get him rescheduled as soon as possible."
