Not a sno-cone's chance

That was probably Santa's thought when I asked him for the Snoopy Sno-Cone machine.

Actually, I'm not sure I specifically requested the machine, which I think I saw for several years in a row in the JCPenney catalog Thanksgiving afternoons at Mamaw Wright's house. My brother, cousins and I would digest Turkey Day vittles while making a list of demands from Papa Noel. That's what we called him in our town (not really).

Anyway, fast-forward to my post-20-somethings (and still irritatingly Snoopy-less), I hear that Gaga-a-Gogo at 1631 E. 15th St. has them in stock, just in time for summer.

Now, you can make sno-cones like you did when you were a kid -- you know, all those times you didn't invite me over on Saturday because I was too busy watching "Style with Elsa Klensch" with my parents. Yeah, those great summer memories.

Seriously, this is too fun to miss. And you can bore your kids with stories about your ol' Snoopy Sno-Cone machine while they have much more fun making their own.

Find yours ($18) at Gaga-a-Gogo. For more, call this fabulous little children's boutique at 749-4400.

Peace, love and frozen novelties ... xoxo

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
