Rain is definitely a good thing... unless it coincides with college football. Back on Sept. 17, a brave fan waits in the rain for the OSU-Tulsa football game at Chapman stadium. TOM GILBERT/ Tulsa World File
It's a proven fact: It's harder for wide receivers to make cuts, running backs to juke and quarterbacks to throw when it's pouring rain.
And as the University of Tulsa and others have shown us in the past, lightning will hold up even the most highly powered offenses.
Let's kick things off right here in Tulsa, where the Golden Hurricane hosts University of Alabama - Birmingham at 7 p.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, before the game, expect sunny skies for tailgating and ticket scalping, with highs in the mid 80s.
However, temperatures are expected to cool off by gametime. You can expect clear skies and temperatures dipping into the 60s Saturday night.
Don't be too worried about wayward field goals or passes, as south winds are only expected to reach around 10 mph.
Next, let's head north to Lawrence, Kan., where the University of Kansas hosts the Oklahoma Sooners in another Saturday night game.
Beforehand, like Tulsa, Lawrence will also have sunny skies, but only highs around the mid 70s.
Also like Tulsa, a mostly clear night is expected up in the Sunflower State, but the night's lows are expected to be slightly cooler than Tulsa's, into the upper 50s. Winds will also be a bit stronger, 10 to 15 mph.
Finally, going waaaay south on Interstate 35 to Austin, where the Oklahoma State Cowboys will be hosted by the University of Texas for a 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon game.
The weather service forecasts sunny, warm and dry weather with highs in the mid 80s, and fairly calm winds, around 5 to 10 mph.
In other words, it's a perfect Saturday for football across the board for OU, OSU and TU.
