Oh, to be a restaurant in Tulsa Hills right now

I was in the vicinity of Tulsa Hills Shopping Center on Sunday and took a spin through the sprawling complex to see if something was happening I wasn't aware of.
Granted, the weather was perfect, but, holy cow, most of the stores and virtually every restaurant were packed. This was around 1:30 p.m. All but a couple of the restaurants in there are chains, but their parking lots were full, from the new Cracker Barrel to Chili's, Smashburger, Buffalo Wild Wings, Logan's Roadhouse -- even Whataburger, and five or six more; I lost count.
I know that area is booming, I just didn't know how much. A new Hideaway Pizza is coming soon, and who knows what else? Hopefully, a few more locals can follow Tropical Smoothie and Piatto Cucina into the area, as well.

Maybe the only thing crappy about this is your attitude! Tropical Smoothie is AWESOME!!! And so is HIde Away Pizza!! I am so glad to have decent restaurants--granted, not fussy gourmet--closer to where I live. Especially good home cookin' like Cracker Barrell, with their great little 'store'. So Mr. Fussbudget--eat at home!

I love this development, all the tax revenue goes to Jenks Public Schools. Wonderful.

TYG, I thought the people who developed Tulsa Hills got it declared a TIF area (tax increment financing) as part of a sweetheart deal. They don't have to pay taxes for something like 12 years. The schools get only a portion of what they would have gotten normally during that period.

whaaaat??? are you sure they aren't violating some zoning ordinance...I thought the only place Tulsa allowed new restaurants was Cherry St. or 71st & Woodland Hills. Next thing I know you'll be telling me they are opening a new Club somewhere besides that lovely Greenwood District.

Good home cookin like Cracker Barrel? I'd certainly eat at home if this was the only choice of restaurants I had!
And I suspect most of the folks in these food court eateries were employees of the surrounding retail outlets.

I went to Tulsa Hills this past weekend, i was impressed with it. Just wish it was closer to B.A. , where i live. I won't get over there much because it's too far to drive most of the time. But it's nice for a change. And the area around Woodland Hills is getting more ghetto by the month.

I wouldn't call those restaurants.

The Logan's Roadhouse manager told us that since Sam's opened his restaraunt has been packed. I am looking forward to the Dick's Sporting Goods opening.

To all who sniff at the food offerings in Tulsa Hills, if you think you're stuck up just look at any light pole in the parking lot. Apparently someone likes it because the parking lots are full.

Piatto Cucina is horrific.

YUCK-what happened-?

Piatto Cucina use to be my favorite restaurant. Over the last year the food and service has been horrible! I will probably never eat there again.
