Nominations for the
41st Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced Thursday morning at Belmont University’s Curb Café.
No surprise, really, Tulsa-based rock band
Pillar earned a nomination for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for its sixth studio project, "
Confessions."
Over its 10 year career, Pillar has reached nearly 1 million in album sales, performed for more than three million people and tallied 10 No. 1 radio singles, 13 Top 5 hits, a GRAMMY nomination, four Dove Awards, and nine national headlining tours.
"Confessions" debuted the talents of new members, bassist
Rich Gilliland, drummer
Taylor Carroll and new producer
Rob Graves (Red, Wavorly).
Also, band
Point of Grace, featuring Normanite
Denise Jones, was nominated for Country Recorded Song of the Year for “
King of the World.”
The awards will be 7-9 p.m. April 21 at Nashville’s famed
Grand Ole Opry House and televised nationwide on
GMC, 7-9 p.m. April 25.
