Oklahoma Indian Summer, an annual intertribal festival, runs Thursday through Saturday at the Bartlesville Community Center, 300 S.E. Adams Blvd.

Among the festival’s activities will be a juried art show and fine arts market, a powwow, American Indian dance contests, interactive cultural demonstrations and American Indian storytelling events. Food and craft vendors will also be present.

This is the festival’s 25th anniversary and to celebrate Oklahoma Indian Summer will host guest speaker Billy Mills, the only living Native American to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Mills will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Community Center auditorium.

The annual intertribal powwow kicks off with Gourd Dancing at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings.

The festival opens at 5 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, with the last event each day beginning at 8 or 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free. For more information, visit tulsaworld.com/okindiansummer or contact festival director Jenifer Pechonick at 918-331-0934 or jeniferp917@aol.com.
