Oklahoma's award-winning actress-singer Kristin Chenoweth will be the first co-host on the new season of "Anderson Live" launching Sept. 10.

Most recently, the Broken Arrow native starred in "GCB" on ABC and garnered a recurring role as a political reporter on "The Good Wife" on CBS. She appears in the first episode Sept. 30 but further filming of her role was halted after she was injured on the set of the primetime drama.

She joins the list of Anderson Cooper's co-hosts which includes Goldie Hawn, Kelly Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Howie Mandel, Erin Andrews, D.L. Hughley and Kellie Pickler.

Guests on the talk show, which will air at 3 p.m. weekdays on channel 8, includes Richard Gere, Beyonce, Jake Gyllenhaal, Claire Danes, Meg Ryan, Ben Affleck, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Kerry Washington, Kelsey Grammer, Carol Burnett and Stephen Colbert.

Chenoweth co-hosted twice with Cooper last season and, in an appearance last May, she took Starbucks to task for the placement of the perforation on its brown sugar packets.

Here's the video.

I think the headline is redundant. . .first co-host on season opener . . . (unless there is a second, third, etc., co-host on the season opener).

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
