Spa Lux, 8922 S. Memorial Drive, recently won a Top Honors award from the internationally distributed DAYSPA magazine and was featured in the pub's December 2008 issue.

In case you haven't seen it, Spa Lux is a beautiful facility -- although that F word seems a little cold compared to the warm and, well, lux interior of this relatively new spa.

Taras Tikhomirov, the spa director, told me about a Christmas special going on right now. Anybody scheduling a massage or facial service of 60 minutes or more during December gets $10 off. Spa Lux also has a special Christmas tea selection, which is offered complimentary to any client visiting the spa.

"Most people love having those teas before or after their complimentary saunas and steam rooms," Taras told me. Also, they give 5 percent cash back on any gift certificate purchased during this month. Like, if you buy $200 worth of gift certificates, they credit your account $10 automatically. Like, why am I talking like a valley girl?

Anyway, to book one of their fantastic services, such as the Thai massage shown here, call them at 615-3339. Or you can visit tulsaworld.com/spalux.

Peace, love and, like, lots of lux ... xoxo

Spa Lux is THE BEST Tulsa day spa period. My wife had an amazing experience there. They treat you like royalty. The atmosphere is so stress free that you forget where you are. She had a massage, facial, and manicure. It was the best gift I could have gotten her. Thanks Taras and Spa Lux!!!!!!

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
