Oprah Winfrey is expanding her interview with banned cyclist Lance Armstrong to two nights this week.

Winfrey will air the interview in two parts 8-9:30 p.m. Thursday and 8-9 p.m. Friday on OWN, cable 106.

She taped the interview Monday with the seven-time Tour de France winner who was stripped of his titles and lost numerous lucrative endorsement deals after being banned from competing professionally in the sport of cycling, in Austin, Texas.

An OWN press release reports Armstrong will address the "alleged doping scandal, years of accusations of cheating and charges of lying about the use of performance-enhancing drugs throughout his storied cycling career."

This is his first interview since the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a report accusing the cyclist of taking performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career.

The cancer survivor, who raised millions for cancer as chairman of his Livestrong Foundation, reportedly stopped in at the charity's headquarters to apologize before going on to his interview with Winfrey.

Loophole (last month)
Oprah desperately needs ratings. She'll milk this story for everything she can get out of it. The problem is, it's history and everyone knows it. This interview comes way too late for anyone of substance to care about it.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
