Wanted to tell y'all about two stylish goings on for this evening:

First, as part of the Very Cherry Christmas, which is a street-wide open-house soiree for most businesses between Peoria and Utica avenues, Chrome Clothing Co. (right behind Camille's) will have music by DJ Turk and, of course, fabulous fashions for men and women. Expect hors d'ouevres and beverages, too, 'til 8 p.m. For more, call 585-2828.

And in Brookside, Nattie Bleu jewelry boutique at 3515 S. Peoria Ave. will host a holiday open house from 3 to 8 p.m. Owner Natalie Allen will have holiday treats, drinks and gifts with purchase (while supplies last). You can also save 20 percent on holiday baubles at this time.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
