Jermaine Jones got his walking papers from executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick Wednesday on "American Idol."

Jones, 29, one of the finalists on the reality TV competition, was confronted by the producers for lying about his criminal past and let go from the show.

"The fact is we are not allowed to have anybody that has an outstanding warrant against them on the program and you’ve got four of them," Lythgoe told the Pine Hill, N.J., native in a taped segment of the show.

Reportedly, the singer was charged in two crimes in 2011, one involving violence, and gave police fake names, according to the website. He also did not reveal that to the show's producers that he had outstanding warrants - three for driving on a suspended license and one for disorderly conduct with an open container plus several other run-ins with law enforcement.

Rogers, who showed only a moment of surprise, took the news well.

"Thank-you so much for the opportunity," he said as he shook their hands. He made no attempt to deny the warrants.

He was shown leaving and getting into a waiting car to be driven away.
