A concert tour in England by Oklahoma's multi-award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth was canceled at the last minute.
Chenoweth, the Tony and Emmy Award-winning Broken Arrow native, was set to perform four concerts in England this week but the tour was canceled three days before it was set to begin due to "unforeseen circumstances," reports guardian.co.uk.
The show's producers Speculation Entertainment issued a statement on its website.
"We regret to announce that we are unable to present our planned UK tour with Tony and Emmy Award winning star Kristin Chenoweth and that the tour has therefore been cancelled," said the statement.
"We are deeply sorry to disappoint Kristin's many UK fans, who so readily bought tickets to see her in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff. We wish to make it clear that the decision to cancel the tour is a result of Speckulation Entertainment's unforeseen circumstances and that Kristin is saddened not to be able to perform here as planned.
“She was looking forward to performing to her sold-out audiences….”
An article posted on broadwayworld.com quoted a source for Broken Arrow's Chenoweth saying "Due to lack of funding from Speckulation Entertainment they have canceled Kristin's sold-out tour" and added that "she is devastated for her fans and appreciates their continued support."
Chenoweth, Emmy-nominated for "Pushing Daisies"” and "Glee," tweeted her disappointment, posting a photo of her packed suitcase.
"Was ready to go. And now completely devastated. I am Sorry to my uk fans. Not a good day. A horrible day," she tweeted.
According to broadway.com, she later explained what happened on Twitter:
"Here's why," she continued, "no tickets, no work permits and nothing done. That's why."
