RSU Radio at Rogers State University will host a
Saturday tribute to the King of Cowboys,
Roy Rogers.
From
9 a.m.-noon, on
93.1 FM, host Gary Rofkahr’s “
Hillcat Saturday Sockhop” steps back in time to the ‘50s and early ‘60s with rockabilly, doo-wop, jump blues and early rock ‘n’ roll.
“What does that have to do with Roy Rogers?” Rofkahr asked.
“Well, my listeners typically grew up during the era when he was most popular. Roy Rogers hats, boots, spurs, lunch boxes, six guns and holsters, his horse Trigger, Gabby Hayes, his dog Bullet, the Jeep Nellybelle and of course Dale Evans were all a part of my listeners’ youth and I’m going to celebrate all of that and more through trivia, music and stories about the life and career of Roy and Dale.”
