Shelley Brander, owner of the Utica Square yarn store Loops which is one of the participating shops in Saturday's "Yorktown Alley Spring Rally." JAMES GIBBARD/Tulsa World

Love, love, LOVE me some spring, with Utica Square being one of my favorite T-Town locales to soak it all in.

Providing another fabulous excuse to do more of it is the "Yorktown Alley Spring Rally" this Saturday on the east side of Utica Square, where you can visit each shop for special incentives.

At the Lolly Garden, which has fabulous fashions for boys (up to size 8) and girls (to size 14), you can spend $50 and earn $5 in "Lolly Loot" to spend on a future purchase. Or spend $100 and be eligible for a shopping party for you and your besties.

Loops, which has an awesome selection of luxury yarns and fun project ideas, says you can spend $50 to get a $5 gift card; and spend $100 to be eligible for a shopping party.

Shop flirt and its women's contemporary fashions, and earn $5 toward a future purchase for every $50 you spend, as well become eligible for a shopping party if you spend $100.

At the Glass Slipper, with its stellar assortment of hot heels and cool accessories, spend $50, earn $5 for future purchases. Plus, spend $100 to be eligible to win items throughout the store.

And at the marvelous Margo's Gifts, where you can find great home decor and gifts for Easter, shoppers will receive 10 percent off store-wide.

Need more info? Pop by your favorite Yorktown Alley shop, or give 'em a ring.

Peace, love and shopping parties ... XOXO

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
