Reader lovin' and towel tannin'

Love me some readers. And I really love 'em when they offer great advice.

Like "Ruth," who reminded me I might need to "cool it on the tanning if you start to look like Lindsay Lohan." Very good point.

And "Ginny" left a comment today about Tan Towels, which is like a self-tanner hand wipe.

"They are great," Ginny said. She was kind enough to tell us where you can find them, too: Prescriptions Compounding Pharmacy at 806-B S. Aspen Ave. in Broken Arrow.

I called the pharmacy to make sure they have some in stock (yes'm, they do), and the fabulous woman I spoke with loves 'em, too.

Just swipe the suckers across your skin wherever you want to be tan. They come in both half-body (great for face, arms and upper body or legs) and full-body (self-explanatory, I hope). Two varieties of those are offered, with Classic for fair to medium skin tones, Plus for darker tones. In other words, if you want to be DARK, go with Plus, Ms. Fabulous said.

Prices are $21 for 10 half-body and five full-body Classic towellettes; $25 for the Plus variety.

For more info, call Prescriptions Compounding at 251-6655.

Peace, love and fab pharmacy finds ... xoxo

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
