Tulsa World reader Marc Schreiber said he has lived here since 2004 and has had little luck finding restaurants that serve hot dogs with skins.

"For a while there was Coney Beach, which was comparable to Pink's in Los Angeles," Schreiber said in an e-mail. "I can get some at Siegi's, but they cost a limb and no buns that size are available."

Those types of hot dogs are called hot dogs with natural casings, or sometimes snappy dogs. They have had some popularity on the West Coast, East and Midwest, but according to some quick research, apparently have been increasingly difficult to find.

Hot dogs (a.k.a. frankfurters or wieners) are cooked or smoked sausages that come in a variety of sizes. The most popular are the skinless varieties that have been stripped of their casings after cooking.

Anyone know where to find hot dogs with skins?
