Oklahoma native Reba McEntire is returning to television with a new series “Malibu Country” Nov. 2 and she's bringing her music with her.

The country music superstar told etonline.com Wednesday that she is writing and performing music for her new situation comedy about a woman who leaves her cheating husband and moves to California to restart her music career. Her plan is to frequently contribute music to the show.

"We hope a lot," she told the entertainment website, "because that's what the fans are really asking for. They're really excited about me playing a country singer...

"I do write a lot of the songs in the show...We've already got two songs in the pilot and the first episode, so we're ready to go with the music."

McEntire, a native of Chockie, said she has also already talked to some of her country music friends about making guest appearances on the show.

"I've already talked to Blake (Shelton, also from Oklahoma) and Kelly (Clarkson) and they said...that they would appear, so we just got to get the script right when we need 'em in here," she said.

"It's got to be honest. Everything about this show's got to be honest."

"Malibu Country" is set to debut at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 on ABC, channel 8.
