Owner Kathy Bondy graciously has accepted me as part of her staff Tuesday night at the French Hen as part of the Restaurant Week fundraiser to help fight children's hunger in northeastern Oklahoma.

It's all part of September's national Hunger Action Month, and proceeds from Tulsa-area restaurants will benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's Food for Kids program.

The way it works is participating restaurants in the Tulsa area will offer special Restaurant Week prix fixe menus, in addition to their regular fare, and 10 percent of the proceeds from the special menus will go to the food bank.

The special menus will be priced $12.95 for lunch and $25 per person, $35 per person or $35 for two persons for dinner.

On Tuesday night only, some of the 34 participating restaurants will have celebrity servers, and all of the tips those servers receive will go to the food bank.
