Russell Stover Candies has opened a new Tulsa location at 7110 S. 101st East Ave.

The building has been renovated to offer “a boutique shopping experience filled with all the sights and smells of luscious chocolate and candies,” according to a new release.

In addition to boxed chocolates, the store will offer such items as chocolate-dipped strawberries, baked cookies, courmet cupcakes, hand-dipped caramel apples, frozen custard, Whitman’s Sampler chocolates, Pangburn’s Millionairs chocolates and 32 flavors of Blue Bell ice cream.

Meantime, the Russell Stover Candies store in Utica Square Shopping Center is closed for remodeling. It is expected to reopen in early summer.

Who shops at that place? It always baffles me because the candy sucks and there's never anyone in there except at Easter and Christmas.

I shop there, doc. I don't need all that stuff they are going to have at the new location - just some basic chocolate once in a while.

Why not just go to Walgreen's then? They have the same Russell Stover stuff.

I shop there myself. I like going to the actual store, because I can purchase boxes of just the chocolates I like. Chain stores only carry the variety boxes, half of which I don't end up eating, because I don't like the flavors or filling.

I was in there on Sunday. Smells like chocolate.
