SEE IT: All-American Rejects get animated in new video

Stillwater pop-rocker The All-American Rejects today released the video for their latest single, "Walk Over Me."

The quirky visuals and animation for this hand-clappingly fun ditty were a labor of love from frontman Tyson Ritter.

"This video is 5,312 pictures that Jon Danovic the director, myself, our friends, and some sweet people we found on Craigslis animated together to marry a song about losing your mind," Ritter told Rolling Stone. "It took four mind-numbing weeks, piles of cigarettes, loads of beer and a spiritual adviser to complete."

The single if from the band's album, "Kids in the Street," released in March.

Earlier this week, the Rejects announced a late summer American jaunt to support its latest album.

“After spending the summer overseas, we’re looking forward to coming home and having a little fun this August playing … couldn’t ask for a better summer vacation,” said bandmate Nick Wheeler in a press statement.

So far, no Oklahoma dates have been confirmed.

The headline tour includes opening act Eve 6 and opens Aug. 8 in Costa Mesa, Calif., and wraps Aug. 30 in Louisiana.

The band’s been overseas touring the festival circuit in recent months, and performing with Blink-182 on its international tour.

The band formed in 1999 in Stillwater.

Barrelhouse Beat

Barrelhouse: A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.

Beat: The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.

About me: I'm Okie born and raised, and have lived all over the state: Oklahoma City, Enid, Moore, Norman, Edmond and Tulsa. I am a music geek, writer, graphic designer and amateur photographer and videographer who's followed the Tulsa and regional music scene since I moved to Green Country more than 10 years ago. I've been enmeshed in Tulsa's varied and vibrant musical night life, what some of us affectionately call a modernized throwback to the Barrelhouse scene, since that time. I fell in love with it. I fell hard.
