Coming up next Friday (June 19) is a new festival, Salsafest, that will run 4-9 p.m. at the Chapman Centennial Green Park -- that's the new one downtown on Sixth Street between Main Street and Boston Avenue.
The event, which will benefit Sustainable Tulsa, should be a lot of fun. It will have tasting kits, a salsa contest, music, kids' activities, etc. Jason Ashley Wright will be writing about all the details in the Scene section within the next week.
Libby Auld, talented owner of Elote Cafe downtown, coaxed me into being one of the judges for the salsa-making contest. I'm looking forward to seeing what shows up, and my wife promises to be standing by with the Pepcid AC.
