Salsafest, here I come

I heading over to Salsafest in about 30 minutes to help judge the salsa-making contest. A sno cone contest might be more appealing at the moment. A few samples of salsa in 100-plus temps might have be searching for a bottle of cold water, or something more adult.

That's the way it is when you sign up for something about four months in advance. When Elote's Libby Auld asked me to help with the judging, I predicted 75 degrees, clear skies and a nice breeze. I guess one out of three ain't bad.

Really, though, Salsafest is a good time, live music, Chihuahua races, dancing, frolicking, etc. It is 5-10 p.m. at Chapman Centennial Green at Sixth Street and Boston Avenue. And, it's free.
