Silver Dollar dining

I recently got back from a short vacation that included an almost annual visit to Silver Dollar City with kids and grandkids in tow.

Among the many dining options, we always choose to lunch at the Lucky Silver Mine restaurant, an underground eatery.

I like it for four reasons:

1. It's cool down there.

2. The all-you-can-eat buffet is passable and pretty well keeps my hunger at bay the remainder of the day, although I'm likely to cave for a funnel cake. And maybe a sasparilla and some salt water taffy.

3. The ice-cold tea in the tin cups is heavenly.

4. Bobbie is one of the all-time great servers. She's been with SDC for 18 years and says she's not sure how many more there will be before retirement.
