Singer LeAnn Rimes entered a treatment facility Wednesday, the day after her 30th birthday, reported people.com.

"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," her representative Marcel Pariseau told people.com in a statement.

"While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

Rimes, who is most often photographed wearing a bikini and has been bullied about her weight and her marriage to actor Eddie Cibrian, told the magazine she is seeking treatment to learn ways to deal with emotional issues.

"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," she told the website.

"All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."

Her husband, who starred in "The Playboy Club" and "CSI: Miami," expressed his support for her, reported the website.

"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," he said. “I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."

The singer, who is getting ready for a fall tour and the release of her latest studio album "Spitfire," is not seeking treatment for an eating disorder or substance abuse, according to Pariseau.

"The facility has granted her permission to keep her weekend tour obligations, as LeAnn doesn't want to disappoint her fans," added Pariseau. "She will report back after each weekend."

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
