February is over. Good riddance.

I’m certain that I am not alone in that sentiment. The month of the groundhog, Valentine’s Day and my son’s birthday is not normally so disdained.

February, like most every other month in Oklahoma, can be unpredictable. But, come on. I played golf two weeks before the first snowstorm and two weeks after the last one. But in between, it was awful and made for a month I can’t too soon forget.

The city and everyone in it struggled under the weight of 22.5 inches of snow, in February alone. We set snowfall records for the month and for the winter. Parts north of Tulsa had it even worse.

I hope this is not a precursor of things to come. I hope this doesn’t mean that every coming winter will be as bad. I hope this was an aberration.

In the meantime, spring is on the way. February took one last shot at us Monday morning with some chilly temperatures. But March, the month for St. Patrick’s Day, is on the way.

Oh, by the way, we’ve had some of our biggest snowstorms in March. Me? I’m hoping for more lamb and less lion.
