Steve Jeffery, who purchased the Spudder last winter, gave the former dinner-only restaurant a shot at the lunch crowd over the past six months, but apparently business didn't warrant keeping it going. He recently dropped lunch service.
That's too bad because the lunch sirloin and comfort-food daily specials were terrific when we visited.
The longtime steakhouse with the vast collection of oil business memorabilia now is open 5-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
It is located at 6536 E. 50th St., about a half block east of Sheridan Road.
