Being a judge at the firefighters’ challenge during the Oklahoma Championship Steak Cook-Off on Saturday has got me thinking about steak.

Every Valentine’s Day for the past few years close friends host a big steak dinner for several couples. It's a fun way to celebrate the holiday with the friends who you care about as well as your spouse.

But we would not even think of going without a batch of the Devil’s Steak Sauce. There would be a mutiny.

It’s a tried and true recipe that I thought I’d share. If you decide to take it to a get together, I’d suggest that you bring a few copies.

Devil’s Steak Sauce
Ingredients
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons malt vinegar
5 drops hot pepper sauce
salt and ground black pepper to taste

1.In a saucepan over high heat, blend raspberry jam, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, malt vinegar, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper.

2.Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to low, and simmer 10 minutes, or until thickened.
