Recently, Stillwater Red Dirt musician Bo Phillips had a No. 1 single on the Texas Regional Radio Report. The song, "Red Dirt Girl," also was No. 3 on the Texas Music Chart.

Phillips has been living in Stillwater since he graduated OSU in 1998. His latest album is "Fishin’ With Grandpa."

If he looks familiar, that's because he's the older brother of Stoney LaRue.

Here's "Hitchhiker":

PLUS!

Here's his tongue-in-cheek parody of Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup." It's called "Blue Dixie Cup."

He told SavingCountryMusic.com:

“Not intended as a dig at Toby or anything like that but merely a fun parody song. I guess I’m saying in this song (is) what thousands of people are saying about ... 'country' music. It’s gotten so d--- commercial and mass-produced that people listen to it not because it’s a choice, but rather a lack of options."

Hmmmmmm ...

Lyrics: Blue Dixie Cup
Now I ain’t sayin’ there’s anything wrong
if a fella wants to sit down and write him a song
about a drinking container made in Hong Kong
and sold at a five and dime.

But the thing that really irritates me
is that people are just too damn blind to see
and my songs will never end up on Glee
as a cheap two-dollar rhyme.

Blue Dixie cup, I just threw up
Good music, hardly… Good music hardly
I hate you Blue Dixie Cup, shut the hell up
That song’s retarded, that song’s retarded

Now you fit things not in my pocket
Maybe a chain or sometimes a locket
If you’re a chick, a big cotton-rocket.
I know, but don’t ask me how.

And I like the way that you can be seen
making folks fall and some people lean
at least you were stolen Robert Earl Keen

So how do you like me now?

Blue Dixie cup, I just threw up
Good music, hardly… Good music hardly
I hate you Blue Dixie Cup, shut the hell up
That song’s retarded, that song’s retarded

They oughta put that guy in the pokey

I’ve never heard a song in the world so damn hokey

Damn I expected more from an Okie
My apologies to y’all.

Little blue friend, you’re more than amazing
The reason for years of fraternity hazing
and don’t you know that them guns will be blazing
when the CMA’s finally call.

Blue Dixie cup, I just threw up
Good music, hardly… Good music hardly
I hate you Blue Dixie Cup, shut the hell up
That song’s retarded, that song’s retarded

Blue Dixie cup, I just threw up
Good music, hardly… Good music hardly
I hate you Blue Dixie Cup, shut the hell up
That song’s retarded, that song’s retarded
