Stylish goings-on at Woodland Hills Mall

Woodland Hills Mall will hold two fashion shows Saturday -- the first at 1 p.m., the second at 3 p.m. -- in front of the lower level of the Sears store, that department store's general manager, Mike Cook, told me today.

Then, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, all of the Sears stores in the area will host a friends and family event, which will give customers the opportunity to bag additional savings throughout the store on top of low sale and clearance prices. Regular priced merchandise will also be included in this event, with some of the following savings:

-20 percent off regular, sale and clearance apparel and accessories
-15 percent off regular, sale and clearance footwear, bed and bath, window fashions and appliances
-10 percent off regular sale and clearance, 3D- and internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray disc players, home-theater systems, GPS devices, MP3 players, lawn and garden items, outdoor furniture and grills, tools, automotive, game room and fitness, jewelry, watches, house wares, mattresses, luggage, ready-to-assemble furniture, floor care and home services.

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
