WEATHER WORLD
While I do these reports weekly with the release of the U.S. Drought Monitor map, here's a reminder for those just tuning ...
A scene from the Oklahoma-filmed movie 'Twister' to lead-in to this topic:
When the movie's character who doesn't ...
It's not a Tulsa urban legend, myth or a running joke: It really does rain every year (since 2008) at downtown's Mayfest.
And ...

On a fun sidenote,
here's a link to the National Weather Service's Mardi Gras climate page, which I didn't know existed until now (with lots of purple, yellow and green of course).
I know that New Orleans' Superdome is indoors (I got to visit it a few times before the 2004 Sugar Bowl), but just for fun and for pregame and postgame purposes, here's New Orleans' forecast for the weekend, courtesy of Accuweather.com:
Saturday: Highs in the mid-60s, lows in the low 50s, with 8-9 mph southeast (day) and west (night) winds.
Sunday: Highs in the mid-60s, lows in the upper 40s, with 10-11 mph north (day) and east (night) winds.
The next chances of rain for the area appear to be Monday-Tuesday, so probably not going to be any severe storms to worry about.
Happy Super Bowl weekend!
