Heather Luessenhop is the super mom of six little boys: a 12-year-old, 10-year-old twins and 8-year-old triplets. I wrote about her last week in a story you can read it at tulsaworld.com/bigfamilies.

Besides the fact that it was nearing bedtime and Heather was busy helping kids with homework and cleaning up from dinner, she was so patient with my questions. She even called the next day to share a couple of recipes and cooking tips.

One tip Heather shared that's a good reminder for all of us is to not waste a thing.

"I save any vegetables from throughout the week, and whatever is leftover I throw in an omelette," she said.

Heather also cooks everything separately. For instance, ground beef is stored separately from spaghetti sauce so that it can be used once for spaghetti and again for stuffed peppers.

Another quick meal idea she says her kids love is to make little biscuit bowls out of Grands biscuits. She then fills them with scrambled eggs and bacon at breakfast or with ground beef and sloppy joe seasonings for dinner.
