AUSTIN -- Norwegian electro pop act
Datarock rocked
Austin Music Hall last night at its South by Southwest music festival showcase, with its eclectic mix of super-tight funk, pop, quirk, rap and dance music. This is a band I'd love to see at
Dfest.
The crowd was nuts for it: Sax, drums, electronic drums, cowbell, guitars, bass, samples ... and dancing. Like, if Devo and the Beastie Boys had a bastard love litter, and they all wore red jump suits.
I was going to take a moment to write about Tricky, who also performed at Austin Music Hall last night. But his set sucked. Flat, boring, self absorbed. Okay, enough already.
Back to Datarock.
