Taco Bueno fans lined up overnight for restaurant opening in Owasso

When the new Taco Bueno restaurant opened this morning at 9:30 a.m., there were already about 50 people waiting, according to a company spokeswoman.

Some of the Buenoheads started lining up at 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

But they weren’t drawn by the promise of a morning Muchacho alone. The company gave out $100 gift cards to the first 30 families there when the store opened.

The restaurant at 13502 E. 116 St. North is Owasso’s second Taco Bueno location.

And the celebration, including other giveaways, is expected to continue throughout the day.

Here’s what the company has to say about the opening...

“This is an exciting time in the history of Taco Bueno,” said Ramon Torres, Senior Vice President of Operations for Taco Bueno. “Over the last several years, Taco Bueno has received hundreds of requests through Facebook from customers in the Tulsa area asking for a second Owasso location. We look forward to expanding this strong brand and are proud to announce that our Owasso location is open for business.”

The Owasso restaurant opening will add at least thirty jobs to the local community.

Looks like it was a gas.

When I read the headline, I wonder why people would line up 24 hours in advance for a Mexican fast food restaurant? Then I read the story, they were being bought for a $100 bucks. It would have taken a lot more bucks to get me to stand in line for 24 hours.

9:30 PM to 9:30 AM is twelve hours. Still, not as bizarre as the people camped out for an Iphone with no deal.

Some people have nothing better to do. My time is worth more than that.

Poor planning in Owasso everything is moving further and further north away from downtown, which they tried to revive and wasted a lot of money and the planners are letting it happen.

You don't have a lay of the land. The west and south of downtown are unbuildable flood plains. The commerce is moving along the highway corriders.

They know Owasso is where restaurants go to die so they wanted to be sure they got first shot at Bueno before it went away.
That is not the standard look for a Taco Bueno Resturant. Maybe it is the pattern for a new design.
Taco Bueno has good food when it is hot. Too often it is not served hot, especially the beans.

I quit going to Taco Bueno when they quit honoring the non-expiring Sport Quart free refill that I bought because it did not have an expiration date.

This is crazy, all for Taco coupons. I don't understand. I think the fast food joints need to be avoided.

... have you tried the new bowls? I've only had one but I have to say, it was delicious. You can choose rice or lettuce as the base and add chosen toppings such as chicken, beans, pico de gallo, guac, etc. Not bad for fast food... I'll definitely try it again.
