Tan your hide — and then some

Per this coming Sunday's "Online find" mention in my Fashion Flash column, here's a little somethin'-somethin' for those of you who want a tan without worrying about skin cancer.
It's a product from Comodynes, a beauty line favored by celebs like Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey. The company recently expanded their popular self-tanning towelettes – "expanded" as in made 'em bigger.
The 100 percent natural towelettes came in an 8-by-8-inch square, ideal for face, neck and neckline. Now, with the rest of you in mind, the tanning swipes are 10-by-10.
Each towelette contains dehydroxiacetone, the best self-tanning active ingredient available, according to Comodydnes. In just three hours, you can have a natural-looking tan.
To use, simply apply to clean, dry skin, applying with a consistent circular motion. As with other tanners, use sparingly on rough areas, like elbows, knees and ankles. Just don't use them on messy toddlers like Wet Ones. Not pretty.
Anyway, for a deeper tan, use towelettes for two or three consecutive days. To maintain your desired color, use one towelette every three to four days. Wash hands after use. Wait about ten minutes before getting dressed.
For best results, start with Comodynes Easy Peeling exfoliating towelette to remove dead skin cells before application so product goes on evenly and smoothly ($16 for eight towelettes).
The towelettes can be used year-round but do not protect against harmful UV rays, so it is recommended to use a sunscreen while sunbathing.
Comodynes Self-Tanning Towelettes have a suggested retail price of $12.99 for a package of five. To order, visit www.tulsaworld.com/comodynes.
Peace, love and tanning ... xoxo

Living Wright
While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
