Target may have found a way to increase Parent Teacher Association membership and sell more at a bake sale.
High heels, a mini-dress and attitude.
The retail giant’s latest ad campaign takes its everyday items and puts a stylish spin on them.
My favorite is the model taking to a catwalk with dessert mixes exploding at her sides just before she crushes an egg in her hand.
The voiceover saying: “Dominate that PTA bake sale.”
The idea that a
PTA mom would be whipping up muffins in heels is just funny.
It’s more like fuzzy socks and an old t-shirt.
And I would be so mad ruining a perfectly good egg.
But, if the fantasy will get more people at the PTA meeting, then so be it.
There is another with a cute, little
pregnant woman ripping through food.
I did mean “little.”
She is that girl who gets a tummy bump disappearing immediately after delivery, and you want to hate her.
Though, I do connect with that angry look as she tries to open the pickle jar.
The ad completely failing for me is the
cowgirl dressed in white and changing a diaper.
Please.
No new mom is wearing tight, white clothes and definitely not around a diaper.
And no amount of "Mad Men"-like genius can make changing a diaper elegant.
