Tasteless U.S. Open

This isn't about restaurants, but it does have something to do with taste.

When in the name of Johnny Miller did those grotesque white belts become trendy golf apparel -- again?

I've caught bits and pieces of the U.S. Open golf tournament over the past couple of days and noticed an alarming number of millionaire professional golfers wearing wide, white bets, circa 1974. What's next: High-heeled Beatles boots? Wide, wide shirt cuffs and long, pointy collars?

I admit I bought a white belt in the 1970s to wear on golf outings. I also spent a major part of a week's salary on an lousy eight-track player that had the shelf life of a banana. White belts and eight-tracks both should be left to rest in peace.

Ouch!! I saw a pair of white bucks (shoes) at church yesterday. Surprised me.

My 8 track player is next to my elephant bottom jeans and quad stereo player which all rests on my long shag carpet next to the TV with the rabbit ears.
