Teenage girl auctions her virginity on YouTube

Of all the headlines I've perused this week, "Teen offers virginity for money" definitely grabbed my attention.

An 18-year-old Brazilian girl named Rebecca went on YouTube to auction her virginity, according to a story on CNN.com. So far, she's received an offer of $35,000.

The reason why is because her mother had a stroke, which left her bed-ridden and unable to feed herself. And the jobs Rebecca has found are minimal.

Hence the auction.

Her mom totally doesn't approve while some people in her town are feeling sympathetic for Rebecca.

What are your thoughts on this? Check out the story and tell me what you think.

Peace, love and attention-grabbing headlines ... XOXO

They used to call it prostitution.

This reminds me of that Book of Questions out several years ago. Like "If giving up one of your lungs would cure the world of cancer, would you?"

And this also reminds me of the question we used to ask each other when it came to stealing or other illegal activity.... If your kids were hungry and you had nothing to sell and no money to buy food, would you steal a loaf of bread? Of course you would. You wouldn't think of doing it under normal circumstances but when life is no longer normal, all the rules change...

The TV station offered to pay then she got greedy. Good luck. $35,000? Be sure to get the money up front.

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
