"Is this your homework, Rory?"
Some brilliant guy, who obviously has excellent taste in TV and movie entertainment, has given the world a "Doctor Who"-themed trailer remake called "The Big Whobowski." And it is nerdily awesome.
Bob Mitsch, known to Whovians for his podcast Costume Station Zero (which explains how he had so many "Doctor Who" costumes lying around), did an
interview with sciencefiction.com in which he explains the motivation for creating the mash-up trailer, as well as some fun facts (yes, they did shoot a Cyberman passed out on a pool float). But I just like the video:
I love the choice of the jelly-babies-loving fourth Doctor as The Dude. That scarf really tied the outfit together, did it not?
But what gave me the biggest grin was seeing a Stetson-wearing 11th Doctor cameo in the role of the narrator/stranger at the bar, played in "The Big Lebowski" by Sam Elliott.
"I like your style, Dude."
Mitsch also posted a YouTube video that's a
side-by-side comparison (find it here) of the two trailers(in case you need a "Big Lebowski" refresher or don't believe he really achieved the "shot-for-shot" status).
