Jeff Probst may have been able to survive 26 seasons as host and an executive producer of "Survivor" but the competitive world of daytime TV is a whole other ballgame.

"The Jeff Probst Show," which debuted in September, was canceled Wednesday by CBS Television Distribution. The freshman syndicated talk show, airing at 2 p.m. weekdays on KOKI, channel 23, cable 5 in Tulsa, has failed to draw the ratings necessary for a second season order.

"I'm super bummed but extremely proud," Probst told hollywoodreporter.com Wednesday. "The truth is all shows come to an end - ours just ended a decade sooner than we had hoped."

His show will leave the schedule this summer.

Probst returned as host of the latest edition of "Survivor" titled "Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites" Wednesday. The reality show airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on CBS, channel 6.

His talk show was the second one canceled this month. "The Ricki Lake Show," which aired in the same time slot on a different channel in Tulsa, was canceled February 4. Last Year, Anderson Cooper was also told his "Anderson Live" talk show would not be renewed.

Talk about a show that's impossible to watch... I'm surprised the powers to be didn't cut this steamy pile in midseason.

If it doesn't have the ratings, well, that's to bad. I watch the Jeff Probst show, thought it was a good show. I hate to see it go.

How could this show fail???

Jeff Probst has talents from "A" to "B" and he displays it in every show that he is on, that I don't watch.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
