I made a comment in our fall movie preview today that will prove to be either prescient or pretty dumb. To repeat: "The Social Network," the movie based on Mark Zuckerberg's founding of Facebook, looks like an Academy Award nominee for best picture based on its trailer alone.
Yes, the trailer is that good. From the imagery, to the ideas of Zuckerberg and pals putting the college experience online from their dorm room, to what Facebook has become today, it looks dark and humorous at the same time.
Adding to this impression is that eerie rendition of Radiohead's 1990s hit "Creep," as done by a Belgian women's choir, that runs through the trailer.
Take a look, and a listen, and see if you're not intrigued by the new film by director David Fincher, the mind behind "Seven," "Fight Club," "Zodiac" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
