Some two decades ago, what originally started out as the title for a never-finished B-movie, Groovie Mann and Buzz McCoy wrote the soundtrack instead, which was then released as an EP and picked up by recording label rebel, Wax Trax.

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult was born, bathed in an oft-controversial aura of occult imagery and flip and twisted hyper-sexuality.

The band is playing Blank Slate tomorrow night, and the video, "Jet Set Sex," from its new album, "The Filthiest Show in Town," was filmed by Mike Castle (Red Red Groove, Tulsa Eagle) and Alan Smithee of Tulsa.
Rockabilly troubadour Brian Parton has been added to the bill, too, joining show openers Stevedore and Axis.

The video was shot mostly in Tulsa, with scenes of Frank Lloyd Wright's Price Tower in Bartlesville also seen in the opening shots. Castle also shot the "International Sin Set" video, which can be seen on the "Kult Kollection" DVD.

And yes, it's a TKK video called "Jet Set Sex," so be forewarned. It's for grown-ups.

Barrelhouse Beat

Barrelhouse: A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.

Beat: The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.
