'The Voice' gets election fever, sets three live shows for election week

“The Voice” is going live three nights during election week.

NBC announced Monday that its hit singing competition, which will be pre-empted Nov. 6 for the election, will air live 7-9 p.m. Nov. 5, 7-9 p.m. Nov. 7 and 7-8 p.m. Nov. 8 on channel 2, cable 9.

This will be the first week that "The Voice" viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestants, according to the network.

The week's schedule also sets up a face off with Fox's "The X Factor" on that Wednesday and Thursday, TV’s most popular comedy series ABC's "Modern Family" on that Wednesday and the mighty ratings behemoth "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS on that Thursday, according to deadline.com.

The knockout rounds of "The Voice" kick off Oct. 29 .
