Oklahoma's Blake Shelton and Maroon Five's Adam Levine talk "bromance" in the newest issue of "People" magazine.

Both music stars are musician coaches, along with Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, on NBC's hit reality singing competition "The Voice," which draws more than 19 million viewers each week, according to the magazine which goes on sale Friday.

The two couldn't appear to be any more different. One's more than a little bit country and the other is definitely rock and roll.

"We’re Like Thelma and Louise… but dudes!" Levine says in a question- and-answer article.

Oklahoma's Shelton is an avid hunter who shares a ranch near Tishomingo with his wife, country superstar Miranda Lambert. Levine is a native of Los Angeles who went to elementary school with (actor) Jake Gyllenhaal and is dating Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna.

On "The Voice," the rivalry is evident but both laugh about their alleged "crush" on each other. They sarcastically comment on their "bromance" in the article.

"A few weeks ago somebody asked me, 'What about you and Adam's bromance. Is there anything to it?'" said Shelton, 35. "And I sputtered off, 'Yeah, I'm going to make out with him.' The next thing you read is 'Blake wants to kiss Adam.' Man, I can’t believe how…"

"…true that is?," said Levine, quipped, finishing his sentence.

The two artists admit to not talking about "The Voice" when they aren't on camera, according to the Q&A in People.

"We rarely talk about 'The Voice' when we're hanging out," says Levine, 33. "It’s healthy and better off that way."

"If I'm hanging out with Adam, I want to drink a beer and talk about the Lakers, not the show," said Shelton, a native of Ada.

"That's a lie," retorted Levine. "You've never spoken about the Lakers. I don't think you even know who's on the team.

"I meant to say boobs," said Shelton, correcting himself.

The Q&A is in the April 2 issue of the magazine being released Friday.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
