The Wiggles, a children’s entertainment group that formed in Australia in 1991, will be at the BOK Center 6:30 p.m. July 27.

The Celebration tour is the final U.S. tour featuring the original four band members. At the end of the year, Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Greg Page will leave the group and three new performers will join group founder Anthony Field.

Fatt, who's widely known as "the purple Wiggle," recently called from Australia for an interview.

He said their music is appealing to kids because it is accessible.

The Wiggles songs, like “Fruit Salad” or “Rock-A-Bye Your Bear,” are always short and simple, and often offer kids with challenges, as with the song “Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?”

Because the Wiggles have been around for 21 years, some of their current audience members are children of their earliest fans.

"I feel very honored to know that the tradition is being continued," Fatt said. He added that sometimes teenagers come to their shows, too, to relive the past.

Tickets are $17, $24.50, $44.50, and $77.50, available at tulsaworld.com/bok or by calling 1-866-7-BOKCTR.

We took our kids to see them at the Convention Center several years ago. They do a great stage show. The parents and kids were all singing along. I'm glad original yellow Wiggle Greg Page is back with the group.
