The week ahead: Art, music and "Urinetown"

Plenty of options this week:

Sunday
Church shows
Head to Hope Unitarian Church, 8432 S. Sheridan, to see ragtime performers Marty Eggers and Virginia Tichenor at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25, available at the door.

Or go listen to organist Christopher Houlihan at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 S. Cincinnati, at 7:30 p.m. today. The event is part of the Saint Cecilia Concert Series. Houlihan will perform works by Bach, Ravel, Widor and Vierne. A reception will follow the concert. Tickets are $20, ($10 for students and seniors), available at the door or at www.saintceciliaattrinity.org.


“Urinetown”
Sunday is the last chance to catch Playhouse Tulsa’s production of "Urinetown" at the Tulsa PAC's Liddy Doenges Theatre, 110 E. Second St. The final performance is set for 2 p.m. Tickets are $25, available at tulsaworld.com/mytix.

Monday
Musical Mondays
Life Senior Services' 11th annual concert series “Musical Mondays” begins this week. Father-son piano duo Donald Ryan and Barron Ryan will kick off the series 7 p.m. Monday at Cascia Hall Performing Art Center, 2520 S. Yorktown Ave. The duo will blend classical and contemporary music, from Rachmaninoff to Gershwin to Billy Joel. Theater parking is at 2600 S. Utica Ave. Tickets are $8 per concert or $35 for the season, and are available at the LIFE Senior Services office, 5950 E. 31st St.; by phone at 918-664-9000, ext. 245; or online at tulsaworld.com/musicalmondays2012.

Tuesday
City Hall in Your Neighborhood
The seventh “City Hall in Your Neighborhood” event will start at 5:30 p.m. in District 8 at Fellowship Bible Church, 5434 E. 91st St. The meetings, planned in all districts, give Tulsans a chance to talk with the mayor, their council member and city staff to ask questions and receive information on city government services and programs. Wednesday
Museums
Check out any number of the exhibits Tulsa museums currently have on display.
This week will be the last chance to see “Woody at One Hundred: The Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration 1912-2012” exhibit. It will be at Gilcrease Museum, 1400 N. Gilcrease Museum Road, through April 29.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. General admission is $8.

Thursday
Farmers market
The Pearl Farmers Market is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays at Centennial Park, at the southwest corner of Sixth Street and Peoria Avenue.

“Mixed Media”
The Broken Arrow Arts and Humanities Council’s Art After Hours event is set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Tivoli Inn, 1403 W. Washington, Broken Arrow. “Mixed Media” will showcase 14 local artists' original work. All art will be available for purchase. Local jazz band Primal Swing will provide live music.

Tulsa To Do
