Sunday
Sunday is the last day the Green Country Home and Garden Show will be at the Exchange Center at Expo Square. More than 150 exhibitors are at the event, featuring displays highlighting home decorating and design ideas. Local home improvement experts will also offer tips during their “how-to” seminars and demonstrations.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for everyone 12 and older.

Monday

Engineer Allan J. McDonald will speak about the Challenger space shuttle disaster during an event at the Lorton Performance Center, 550 S. Gary Place, at 7 p.m. Monday. The event is presented by the TU and the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
McDonald wrote the book “Truth, Lies and O-Rings: Inside the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster.” According to the TASM website, McDonald had warned against launching the shuttle that day, 27 years ago Monday.

Tuesday

Rebecca Fernandez, senior editor of the website HelloGiggles, will be the featured speaker for the Tulsa Press Club’s January “Press Forward” event.
Fernandez, an OU graduate, will speak about women in the media, focusing on how sites like HelloGiggles are working to create more opportunities for women in the media and how women can capitalize on those opportunities.
Fernandez will speak 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Press Club inside the Atlas Life Building, 415 S. Boston Ave.
The event is $5 for Tulsa Press Club members and $10 for non-members. Call 918-583-7737 to RSVP.

Wednesday
The Green Collection is bringing more than 50 of the world’s rarest Biblical texts and artifacts to the Mabee Center, 7777 S. Lewis Ave. The items will be on display Wednesday-Saturday.
In conjunction with the exhibit, Jerry Pattengale, an expert on biblical manuscripts and history, will offer a free lecture from 11:15 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Reservations are necessary because seating limited.

Thursday
The Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show will be at Expo Square Monday-Feb. 3. The event will showcase the latest products on the market.
Monday is a VIP preview night, and tickets are $15. Admission during the remainder of the show is $10 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger. Show hours are 5-9 p.m. Monday, noon-9 p.m. Tuesday through Feb. 1, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 2, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 3.
