The week ahead: Jazz, "Antibodies" and garden storytime

Sunday
Jazzy night
Saxophone player Myron Oliver and his band Fuzed will perform at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame at 5 p.m. Sunday. Head on over for a night of jazz, blues and soul music.

RV and boat show

Sunday is the last day the Green Country RV and Boat Show will be at the QuikTrip Center at Expo Square. Admission is $8 for adults; kids 12 and younger get in free.
There also will be a NASCAR Simulator, and the fastest time each day wins two Texas Motor Speedway tickets.

Monday

Musical Mondays
Life Senior Services’ 11th annual concert series, Musical Mondays, designed especially for Tulsa-area seniors, continues this week. At 7 p.m., Chris Middlebrook and Amy Cottingham will perform at the Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center, 2520 S. Yorktown Ave. Theater parking is at 2600 S. Utica Ave. Tickets are $8 per concert, available at the LIFE Senior Services office, 5950 E. 31st St.; by phone at 918-664-9000, ext. 245; or online at tulsaworld.com/musicalmondays2012.

Tuesday
Starlight concert
The Starlight Band continues its free summer concerts this week with the jazz orchestra’s “Sinatra Tribute.”
All concerts will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through the summer, in the amphitheater at the River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson Ave., on the west bank of the Arkansas River.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic dinners and chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available.

Wednesday

Musuem exhibits
Check out any of the numerous exhibits at our local museums.
Want to see how someone can make a chair out of stuffed animals? Then go see “Antibodies: The Works of Fernando and Humberto Campana 1989-2009,” at Philbrook through Oct. 7. The exhibit is full of furniture made in unconventional ways. Admission is $9. For more, visit tulsaworld.com/philbrook.

Thursday

Summer’s Fifth Night
The 21st annual Summer’s Fifth Night concert series continues at Utica Square on Thursday. The concert series is free, and concerts are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 30.
This week’s concert will feature the Starr Fisher Ensemble for a night of variety R&B.

Story time in the garden
For some outdoor, education fun, take the kids to the Linnaeus Teaching Garden in Woodward Park at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The gardeners will read a story revolving around nature. The event is free. Story times are every Thursday through August.
