This just in: Juliette Lewis sings

"Bonding with my co-workers Misty Upham and Courtney. #kereokenight #AugustOsageCounty"
"August: Osage County" actress Juliette Lewis is also a longtime singer, with her band Juliette and the Licks and as a solo act.
She apparently cut loose with some fellow cast and crew members at a Bartlesville locale for some karaoke on Thursday night, and she shared the photo on her Twitter account.
She tweeted: "Bonding with my co-workers Misty Upham and Courtney. #kereokenight #AugustOsageCounty"
The night before Lewis had tweeted a photo of her "goodie bag" that cast members received from Tulsa's super-cool shop Dwelling Spaces, and it included a Flaming Lips shirt.
Check out the karaoke photo, and she is wearing the Lips T-shirt. Yes, she is a fan.
Lewis plays Karen Weston, the youngest daughter in the dysfunctional Weston clan depicted in the play, and now the film. Upham has been cast as Johnna, the American Indian housekeeper hired in the first scene to keep an eye on the house, which she does in a largely silent manner.
If you're wondering: What did Juliette sing? Would she have been judged to be "pitchy" if an "American Idol" judge had been listening? She's a rocker, but did she attempt a country tune or two? And just who is Courtney?
These details are not known, but this just in: Juliette Lewis sings.

I See Movies for Free
“I was born a poor, black child” … not me, actually, but Steve Martin’s character in the “The Jerk.” That absurd opening line is just one of the absurd number of film facts, quotes and minutiae contained in
movie critic Michael Smith’s
brain, at his disposal to toss out on a moment’s notice. It’s a key requirement as Tulsa World film critic to know these things. Michael learned a few other life facts along the way (seven years as a Crystal’s Pizza & Spaghetti manager) before attempting journalism and joining the Tulsa World in 1996, where he’s covered everything from a school shooting in Fort Gibson to a tornado in Stroud to witnessing an execution. A little community theater coverage was sprinkled in there, too. Movies engender many of his happiest memories, from standing in line for “Star Wars” and “Grease” at the Southroads Cinema to the James Bond and Pink Panther movies that always premiered at the enormous Continental Theater.

Big winner tonight: producer Harvey Weinstein. "The Artist" wins 5 Oscars, "The Iron Lady" goes 2-for-2, even wins best documentary.
